We were on a trip to New York and Vermont to visit our family. We decided to visit a few places on our list on the way back home. Our journey began in Vermont. We drove to Hartford Connecticut to see the capitol. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parking for the capitol is across a large highway. To simplify access from the parking to the building, there is a long underground tunnel that connects the two locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The capitol is quite ornate. The rotunda has an op art floor with an interesting pattern that can look different depending upon you perspective and vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also has a unique ceiling for a capitol rotunda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside the capitol there were two interesting statues. One was a copy of the statue at the top of the rotunda. The other is a statue honoring Nathan Hale, a Revolutionary War hero, who was captured by the British. He was executed as a spy. He is famous for the quote \u201cI only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During our tour of the Connecticut capitol we also had the chance to see the Senate Chamber and the House Chamber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our next part of the trip was a short distance, but a longer journey back in time. We stopped in South Meriden, Connecticut to see our first house that we purchased. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was interesting to return to this house after so many years. Between the passage of time and the changes in the area, it was a good thing we had a GPS to find our old house. We met the current occupants of the house. They bought the property from the people that bought it from us. The current owners have done many upgrades to the house over their time they have lived there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After our trip down memory lane, we went back to the future to Hershey Pennsylvania. We stopped at Hershey Park for a very quick Hershey’s Chocolate Tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
