Today we visited the Alabama State Capitol. Unlike most capitols, the legislature meets in a separate building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The historic legislative offices still remain in the capitol as a museum. The larger photo gives you a sense of the height of the rooms. The Senate office has a picture of George Washington. The House office has a plaque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The capitol has fancy spiral staircases and a lot of white paint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dome in the capitol is multi-tiered with many details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After we visited the capitol, we went to the Alabama State House to see the current Senate and House Chambers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Alabama State House had a unique POW\/MIA memorial. It was simple and elegant at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, we headed west to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We stopped at the same seafood restaurant that we visited the last time we were here. The food was still hot, delicious, and served in great quantity. They even threw in a free piece of chicken when we mentioned we stopped in Baton Rouge just to eat at Scenic Seafood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you don’t believe that Louisiana has a lot of swamp land, these pictures of Interstate 10 should help to convince you that there really is a lot of water in Louisiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
