We woke up early this morning because we have a long way to drive. At 5 am, the sky was still dark. We saw the sunrise while we were on the road. A little later we saw a very large rainbow. We stopped at another entrance to Big Bend on our way to St Elena
Today we begin our national park tour at Big Bend National Park. It is a remote park. Fort Stockton Texas, the closest town with a population over 1,000, is 123 miles away. We took a trip down memory lane today. We lived in Houston, Texas when we were first married many years ago. Houston is both the same and very different. The population has grown from 1.8 million to 7 million. Downtown is still a lot of skyscrapers, but now there are several over 50 stories tall.
