It was about a 25 minute drive from the hotel to the entrance to the park. Inside the park, we headed to the Mastodon Peak Loop Trail. It begins at an oasis. The trail was well marked, steep, and rocky at times. When we reached Mastodon Peak, we had an amazing view of the area.
