Welcome to Iowa, the land of corn and silos. The Iowa Capitol was undergoing some outside rehab. It is still an impressive building, even with the scaffolding blocking part of the view. The details in the artwork on the outside were different because the figures were separated from the wall making them look more realistic.
We returned to Minnesota today to see the capitol, a waterfall, and the Mall of America. In this part of the state, we saw more cropland. We also saw the Mississippi River. We had driven north of the Mississippi on our way west. We got to see how the underpasses and bridges in St. Paul
We had a change in plans today. We discovered that the Minuteman Missile site we were going to visit is closed on Tuesdays. So we had an opening in our schedule. We did not need to get up early to have time for the missile site. It was nice to get to sleep a little
Today we began a two day tour of Badlands National Park in South Dakota. The Badlands park is unusual because it is a joint effort between the United States and the Ogala Lakota Nation. We started our tour of the Badlands in the Ogala Lakota portion of the park. Our drive to Red Shirt Table
