Today we are starting a six week tour of nine states. The trip began in a downpour, so our starting photo is from our garage.
The rain did not last long. After about an hour we were past the worst precipitation for the day. By lunch time we had stopped in Asheville NC to pick up some barbeque. We then drove to a rest stop in Tennessee. We had a beautiful view of the mountains while we ate our lunch.
After lunch we finished our drive to Cookeville TN. We got some great pizza for dinner. We enjoyed it from the porch of our hotel room which had another great mountain view.
We finished our meal with a banana split from Cream City Ice Cream. The ice cream was delicious. It’s a good thing we will be hiking a lot very soon!
We are now trying to figure how to adjust for time zone changes each day as we travel west. We will be in five states in five days. What day is it? What state is it? Well, today is May 14th, and we are in Tennessee. As far as the time, we started in Eastern time, it is now Central time, and soon it will be Mountain time. We are glad that time zones are our biggest issue on the road.
