Today we visited Cincinnati, Ohio. In the morning, we went by two houses that Steve had lived in. We got to talk to a couple who have lived in one of the houses since just after his family moved out. It was an interesting start to the day.
Next, we went on the Riverwalk in downtown Cincinnati. The riverfront had changed a lot over the last few decades. We saw the Bengals stadium, the Great American Insurance Company Building, several bridges and a statue of Cincinnatus, the person the city is named after.
All of that was a prelude to the Cincinnati Reds game we saw. The stadium, the crowd, and the hype around the game were great. The best part was that Cincinnati won the game. The pitcher for the Reds set a personal record for strikeouts as well. It was a great day and a great game. It was also very different from Crosley Field.
After the game, we had planned to have dinner at Findlay Market in Cincinnati. Unfortunately, it was closed for the day by the time the game was over. It was still a fun day of old memories and new ones as well.
