Fun Stuff Along the Way

We continued our visit with Eric and Michele today. For dinner, we went to The Wind-Chill Factory.

We spent this day visiting with Eric, Michele, and Isabella. Isabella is our newest grandchild. She is about three months old. In the evening, AJ and his children drove up to join us for dinner at Juicy Burgers. We had a great meal and a lot of fun getting together.

Today is the beginning of our thirteenth trip to national parks and state capitols. We are starting our trip by visiting family. After that, we will see three state capitols and one national park. As always, we will have fun stops at other places along the way.

We drove home from Cookeville, Tennessee today. It was a nice day for an autumn drive. It was also good to get home. It took four weeks to drive 7,500 miles to see 11 national parks and seven state capitols. It was a busy, productive, educational, and enjoyable four weeks on the road.

It is a short trip from Boulder City to Hoover Dam. This was our first view of Lake Mead, the lake behind Hoover Dam. We arrived a little early for our tour, so we did our own short tour around the area. We took a picture of the bridge over the Colorado River. Later on

We took a trip down memory lane today. We lived in Houston, Texas when we were first married many years ago. Houston is both the same and very different. The population has grown from 1.8 million to 7 million. Downtown is still a lot of skyscrapers, but now there are several over 50 stories tall.

We had a morning flight out of Portland to get home. So that meant an early start to the day. Since our flight had three segments, it also meant we had a late arrival at home. Once we got started, it was non stop activity until we got home. Our day began at 7 am

Today was a long rainy day drive from Grand Teton National Park to Boise Idaho. We took a picture of one of the mountains in the Grand Tetons to show how rainy and cloudy it was. This was near Jenny Lake. We crossed over a steep mountain pass in Wyoming to get to Idaho while

Today was a driving day across Idaho and part of Montana. It was a great day for a drive. We saw lots of mountains, lakes, rivers and one area that was still smoky from a wildfire. We are ready to go to Glacier National Park tomorrow.
