After church on Sunday, we combined a Sunday dinner at Texas Road House with a continuation of celebrating Annora’s birthday. Before we went to dinner, Grandma and Grandpa spent some time playing “The Floor is Lava” with Annora. She really liked jumping from tile to tile to avoid the lava. Somehow, she won every game!

Today we celebrated Annora’s fifth birthday at Danielle’s parents’ home. It was a family affair. Annora’s grandparents, some aunts, uncles and cousins all attended. We began our tenth tour of national parks and capitols today. Our first destination was upstate New York for a family visit and our granddaughter’s birthday. The driving was relatively easy. We anticipated potential issues with smoke from fires in Canada. However, with the exception of some smoky areas in Virginia, we had no problems.

It was a beautiful day for a tour of the Kentucky capitol. The building is a classic design on gorgeous grounds. The dome was being rehabbed. Today we spent several hours at the National Air Force Museum. It is over 800,000 square feet dedicated to documenting the history of flight. The museum houses over 350 aircraft. They are organized mostly by eras of flight. If you like planes, this is a place to visit. Admission is free. They do ask for

Today we begin a quick six day trip to Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Kentucky, and West Virginia. It is a beautiful day for traveling. When we got to the mountains, the day was still clear, but the temperature was dropping. We saw some snow in the mountains. We stopped in Charleston, West Virginia for some barbeque.
