This trip began with an Uber ride to the airport.
Our flight to Portland Oregon was smooth and on time. We saw a reminder of the numerous wildfires in the western United States during our flight.
We also got to see Mount Hood and the Columbia River as we approached Portland.
Our first glitch on the trip was at the rental car office. They did not have the car we had reserved. Instead of offering an upgrade, they gave us a downgraded vehicle (for the same cost) which was barely large enough to hold our luggage. We made it work, but it was a little bit frustrating the way it was handled.
