December 6, 2024 : Trip 15, Day 5 – Disneyworld Epcot

Every adventure at EPCOT starts near Spaceship Earth. We were here first thing and last thing of the day.

We walked to the back of EPCOT for our first ride of the day.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure gives you the rat’s eye view of avoiding people and preparing food without being caught. The scale of the building is enormous.

We actually rode under the cheese rack on the left. You really do feel small in this environment. It is a great ride.

When we came out of the ride, we were normal size again!

After that, we went to Soarin’ to ride around the world. We saw beautiful scenery and wonderful landmarks. It is a new experience each time, even though you see the same places each time.

Then we watched a series of Pixar 3D movies that demonstrate the power of a good story that is supported my great graphics. The artwork involved in the storytelling is wonderful. It is especially fun to see on a large screen.

We always make sure that we see Figment at the Journey into Imagination building. The supporting characters have changed over the years. Figment remains the star of the show.

On our way to Guardians of the Galaxy, we came across a group of three street musicians. They called themselves the Jammitors. They take steel drums to a whole new level. They actually use garbage cans for their drums. They used their skills and different sized garbage cans to provide both melody and rhythm in their music. It was an amazing demonstration of musical talent with some comedy thrown in as a bonus.

Guardians of the Galaxy gave us the opportunity to join them as they saved the Galaxy once again. Even though the odds were against us, we used an untested theory of space and time to win the day once more.

Here we are back on earth again with the ship that saved the galaxy.

While we we off saving the Galaxy, the temperature in Florida had dropped a lot, and the wind speed had picked up. Maybe it was the effects of that untested theory of space and time. It had also made us hungry. We went to lunch and shopped for some warmer clothes. We found the food, but not the clothes. A quick jaunt back to the Highlander provided the extra warmth we needed for the afternoon.

If you are ever at Epcot, you must see the Voices of Liberty. You will rarely hear a better group of singers. The nine of them sounded like a full choir. Every person in the group did a solo at some time during their presentation. It would be difficult to pick the best singer in the group. They were all excellent.

Just after the Voices of Liberty completed their singing, The Hall of Presidents show was about to begin. We saw a great multimedia presentation about our country, its presidents, and the values that have made the United States as great as it is. It is refreshing to see something that focuses on how great our country is while still challenging us to do better.

We finished our day where we began. A ride through Spaceship Earth shows how far mankind has come from the dawn of history. It also gives a path of hope for a bright tomorrow if we can all work together for each other.

We had a fabulous three days at Walt Disney World. We experienced new adventures and relived some old memories. We got to do more than we thought we would have time for. We paid a price though. We are sore and tired from a lot of walking. We are ready for rest tonight and an easy day of visiting tomorrow.
