The Washington State capitol in Olympia has gorgeous grounds , gardens, fountains and statues. We were not permitted into the Senate floor or into the gallery today. The House Gallery was open though. The interior walls are primarily white and black marble. There is a lot of outside light used to illuminate the interior. There

Welcome to Iowa, the land of corn and silos. The Iowa Capitol was undergoing some outside rehab. It is still an impressive building, even with the scaffolding blocking part of the view. The details in the artwork on the outside were different because the figures were separated from the wall making them look more realistic.
We returned to Minnesota today to see the capitol, a waterfall, and the Mall of America. In this part of the state, we saw more cropland. We also saw the Mississippi River. We had driven north of the Mississippi on our way west. We got to see how the underpasses and bridges in St. Paul
